Job Objective:
Provides direct oversight, management, and strategic direction for the Hilcorp, Alaska Rotating Equipment Team. The team is composed of office and field-based rotating equipment engineers and support staff. The REE group provides Rotating Equipment support for all Alaska Asset Teams, including maintenance activities and capital projects. The major focus is the Prudhoe Bay rotating equipment fleet of over 125 major pieces of rotating equipment and building a sustainable team of technical expertise to deliver cost effective Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Leading a highly skilled and experienced team of technical professionals in achieving safety, environmental, production and cost objectives related to the maintenance and performance of rotating equipment.
Collaborating closely with Asset Teams to understand impacts to operations, ensure rotating equipment programs and processes are in alignment, and communicate key metrics and demonstrate value that supports each asset as the low-cost producer.
In support of the Prudhoe Assets, continue refining a Reliability Centered Maintenance focus in all areas of support with emphasis on high quality standards while driving down total cost.
Creating and managing the Rotating Equipment Plan for execution, repairs, and projects that optimizes cost while achieving key objectives.

This means developing a vision for rotating equipment and projecting work on annual through 10 year cycles.
Assists with the Preventative Maintenance Program and helps ensure proper PM's are captured in the system.
Directs major component spare part inventory plan and ensures major component inventory is monitored and evaluated on a set frequency.
Ensures QA/QC processes and documentation to ensure quality of major components.

Ensure strong alignment and support with field-based teams, especially the Prudhoe Bay Overhaul team.
Managing contracts with numerous service support contract companies, including negotiating rates, resolving conflicts, and providing feedback to contract companies on performance expectations.
Providing visible leadership and direction in the development of programs, policies, and procedures, both in the office and in the field.
Develop skills within the teams and leverage external good practices and internal good practices across the company. Coaching and developing the team to build individual capabilities and competence.

Conducting employee performance evaluations and regularly holding 1:1 sessions to enhance employee performance.
Set the example to take info from real life observations & eagerness to spend time on the shop floor and turbine skids.
Build passion for world class maintenance and reliability.
Customer support focus - meeting the needs of the facilities the team serves.

Assess state-of-the-art techniques for condition based/predictive maintenance for different types of rotating equipment, and develop these into plans that can be deployed across the assets.
Monitor, and if needed, support Root Cause Analysis/root cause problem solving for serious failures.
Drive quality of RCAs & drive application of learnings across the assets.
Fostering a culture of continuous improvement to improve equipment availability, reliability, and productivity; making sure best practice processes are in place.
Project management assistance to facilities for rotating equipment and turnaround projects.
Approximately 25% travel annually to the field to support equipment troubleshooting, meetings with field personnel, project support, and/or equipment overhaul support.
Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Conducts employee performance evaluations.
Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
Taking a proactive approach to safety and where necessary participating in accident / incident investigations, hazard studies and safety issues.

Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
Providing support for critical issues and incidents outside of your standard schedule as needed.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience (minimum 10 years preferred) in and deep knowledge in the design, operation, and maintenance of Rotating equipment and associated support systems, as well as predictive/condition based methods applied in the process industry (upstream oil & gas, refining, chemical).
Should have at least 5 years experience focused on rotating equipment inclusive of turbines, pumps, compressors, fans, and blowers.
Self-starter with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing the work force.
A competent and visible leadership style of guiding, mentoring, developing and empowering team members resulting in positive employee engagement.
Ability to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with employees, supervisors, and other departments.
Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance, root cause investigations, and preventative maintenance programs.
Active knowledge on standards and codes and their application on rotating equipment such as API, ASTM, ASME codes.
Certifications in lubrication, vibration analysis, balancing or other relevant topics desirable.
Experience with Process Safety and PSM facilities.
Capability to critically analyze data and make effective strategic and operational decisions based on information provided and drive issues to resolution.
Experience in contract and project management.
Proficiency in the use and application of the following computer software:

Preferred: Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook)
MS Excel
PowerBI

Ability to work established work schedule.
Ability to maintain a positive, professional and solutions-oriented approach with employees, supervisors, other support teams and asset teams.
Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
Education Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred. BS in other engineering disciplines or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position will be considered.
