A day in the life.
As our Account Manager (AM) on the Employee Health & Benefits team, you'll actively manage a book of business to ensure each client's welfare benefit plan needs and goals are met.
This involves managing annual benefit enrollment periods and overseeing the transfer of coverage to new vendors, providing first-rate benefit plan communications to clients, resolving day-to-day service issues and concerns, maintaining accurate and up-to-date benefit plan documents, and counseling clients on a wide range of regulatory issues affecting welfare benefit plans.

An Account Manager works with significant autonomy and demonstrates a high degree of competency in the position.
As such, others in the section and the firm may approach the Senior for assistance and guidance on various matters.
Seniors may also help train newer Account Managers, conduct formal training, create new product, or similar functions.

This position has the ability to work out of any of our Michigan offices in Grand Rapids, Livonia or Troy.

Our future colleague. We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
A degree in business, human resources, health care administration or other related area is a plus.
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in the welfare benefit plan industry is required, working for an employer, insurer/administrator or broker.
Extensive knowledge of group insurance (medical, dental, vision, life and disability products) required.
Effective public speaking skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to use available resources to research regulatory issues and provide clear, concise and accurate information and guidance to clients.
Must have the ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
Must be able to work independently and be detailed, organized and resourceful, motivating others inside and outside of the firm to accomplish goals.
Be professional in both appearance and manner.
Experience in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook preferred.
Experience with Publisher a plus.
