Full job description Accounting Clerk Full-Time Tuscumbia, Alabama MCCO Inc is the administrative arm of all McVantage Group Companies which include but are not limited to McVantage Packaging LLC, McVantage Brokerage LLC, Pearson Safety Solutions LLC, McVantage International, MCCO Inc, CSJ & Associates LLC.
The Accounting Clerk will perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting data including accounts payable, receivables, and reporting. This position has excellent growth opportunities with an exceptional company and an amazing team.
Description of responsibilities: Accounts Payable
· Purchase receipts.
· Match invoices with packing slips.
· Write checks.
· Palmate
· Set up new vendors in the accounting software.
· Review billing statements for accuracy.
Accounts Receivable
· Cash receipts. (Enter checks in accounting software, applying them to invoices)
· Apply the ACH payments from the bank printout in the accounting software.
· Deposit checks in the bank using a remote scanner.
· Set up new customers in the accounting software.
Clerical Duties.
· Answer the phones.
· Greet visitors at the front desk.
· Carry mail to the post office in the afternoon.
Reporting
· Sales tax
· Cash management report.
· Contribution statement.
· Assist with inventory reconciliation.
Other
· Weigh log trucks in and out.
Required education and experience: · Bachelor's degree in accounting. (Other relevant degrees will be considered but there is a strong preference for an accounting degree)
Required skills and abilities: · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· High attention to detail.
· Understand and able to adhere to the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. (Word, Excel, and Outlook.)
· Report to work Monday – Friday during business hours.
