Vaco Financial is assisting our client in their search for an Accounting Manager.
The Accounting Manager will report to the Vice President, Finance and will oversee day to day operations of the accounting function including financial reporting, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and supervising accounting staff. Key Responsibilities Prepare financial statements and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies Review financial statements for reasonableness, completeness, and fluctuations, researching any discrepancies Prepare and review account analysis, roll forwards and supporting schedules required as support to the financial statements Prepare and review information for regulatory and tax filings Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, objectives and internal controls, make recommendations to correct deficiencies, and initiate corrective actions Assist with processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, capital asset reconciliations, fixed asset activity, treasury transactions, and debt transactions Mentor, train and provide work direction to accounting staff Manage the monthly financial close process, including reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation Collaborate with external auditors and internal auditors to ensure successful audit results an compliance Develop process and system improvements to streamline and optimize accounting processes Maintains general ledger, including preparing financial schedules Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications BA in Accounting or relevant field required with a minimum of 5 years in an accounting or finance role 2 years of leadership experience, mentoring, coaching, and developing teams CPA or/and master's degree in business or accounting is a plus Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Proficient in using accounting software and financial systems, including Excel, to analyze financial data, create reports, and streamline processes Experience with creating financial statements
