Job Description and Duties Under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator II, the Accounting Officer Specialist performs complex professional accounting duties related to fund accounting and reporting in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Department of Finance, State Controller's Office, State Administrative Manual. Duties include but are not limited to: preparing journal entries, reconciliation of the Financial Information System for California (Fi$Cal) records to the State Controller's records, performing analysis of revenue, reimbursement and disbursement data, month-end and year-end closing entries, and preparation of year-end financial statements. Working Conditions This work unit is subject to core business hours of 9:00am to 3:30pm. Required to sit, bend, stoop, or stand while working. Daily use of standard office equipment. When in office, work environment is mostly inside a office with artificial light and forced temperature control. Transport items weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional mandatory overtime. Vacation time off may be limited during the months of June, July, and August for year-end closing deadlines. Professional office environment, appropriate business attire requied.
