The Gulf of Mexico Business Unit is seeking a candidate for the position ofAsset Development Technologist. This role is part of the asset development organization responsible for the day-to-day development and management of its Gulf of Mexico deepwater fields, both company-operated and NOJV.
Key Responsibilities spanning both subsurface and data-related competency, skills, and experience:
Support teams of earth scientists and engineers in subsurface characterization, opportunity maturation, active drilling, reservoir management, reserves documentation, regulatory reporting, and permitting.
Create and QC geological maps and data visualizations to support asset development and regulatory activities.
Manage data, including well data and seismic interpretation loading, and ensure the accessibility, reliability, and trustworthiness of key subsurface datasets.
Interface with asset representatives, regulatory group, other subsurface practitioners, and IT Data Foundation.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (geology preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
Knowledge of well log data, subsurface maps, and geodesy.
Proficiency in G&G interpretation software (e.g. Petrel, Petrosys) and data management (Petrel Studio).
Fluency in MS Office and SharePoint framework.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with GOM geology.
Experience with PowerSuite, Techlog, RoQC, WellView, spatial data.
Ability to support teams through dashboards and digital solutions.
Knowledge of workflow simplification, automation, and agile methodologies.
Digital awareness and a desire to grow capabilities.
Scripting abilities (Python, PowerShell, VBA) to solve data transfer and conditioning problems.
Ability to troubleshoot.
