Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington.

Summary:
Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking a pool of qualified Adjunct Professors to teach in the Behavioral and Social Services Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Teach College level Behavioral and Social Service coursesPlan and develop a variety of instruction objectives and experiences appropriate to the program goals Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments Develop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculum Develop and teach lessons which foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination Develop classroom and lab procedures (if needed) in conformance with identified policies and procedures Maintain appropriate records which indicate student progress and meet college requirements Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction and self-directed learning Post the class syllabus and students' grades via the online course system (currently Canvas) QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or addictions studies2 years of behavioral healthcare and/or social service work experienceSupport for the values of holistic, client center workAbiding hope in recovery for each personDemonstrated ability to work successfully with students, staff and community from diverse backgroundsRecent teaching experienceExcellent communication skills and ability to function as an effective team member Preferred: Doctoral degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or addictions studies5 years of behavioral healthcare and/or social service work experience2 years of clinical supervisory experienceCollegiate teaching experienceDistance learning experienceCommunity or technical college experienceRecent teaching experience in postsecondary and/or vocational/technical education using a variety of methods, including tractional classroom, individualized labState licensure as a behavioral healthcare provider without restrictions.Credentialing as a Substance Use Disorder ProfessionalFamiliarity with local behavioral healthcare organizationsExperience working on interdisciplinary teamsExperience working with and communicating with historically underrepresented communities Experience in writing course curriculumEvidence of recent professional development activityDue to the diversity of the college population, we encourage applicants who are multilingual SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION CompensationPlacement on the faculty salary schedule is based on an individual assessment of education and experience.
The salary for part time faculty contracts shall be based upon the number of credits assigned the faculty member, the type of class taught, and the rates contained in the part time faculty salary schedule currently in effect and labeled Appendix B.

Step 2 ranges from $819.15 - $2,457.46
Step 3 ranges from $835.95 - $2,507.85
Step 4 ranges from $893.51 - $2,680.54
Step 5 ranges from $916.30 - $2,748.90
Step 6 ranges from $957.08 - $2,871.24
BenefitsOnce part-time faculty have worked 50% full-time or more for two consecutive quarters(with LWTech or combined with other community/technical colleges), Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and other insurance benefits are provided as currently administered under Public Employees Benefits Board, State Retirement Plan and a Deferred Compensation Plan; sick leave accrues at 1 day (Prorated based on % of FTE) effective upon employment.

CORRECTIONS OR EXTENDED NOTICES
A part time faculty member becomes eligible for benefits at the beginning of the second consecutive quarter of half time or more of in-class teaching at one or more Washington state institutions of higher education.
Spring and fall quarters are considered consecutive quarters for benefits eligibility.
Half time is determined based on each institution's definition of full time.
A part time faculty member must qualify each quarter they teach to maintain eligibility.
Once eligible, part time faculty will be notified of their benefit and retirement options.Sick leave accrues at 1 day (Prorated based on % of FTE) per month.
