Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Diversity and Outreach, Roger Williams University School of Law,the Administrative Assistant is responsible for the successful administrative operation in support of the Academic Excellence Program andthe Office of Diversity and Outreach in the School of Law.
Academic Excellence Program
Schedule workshops, labs,open-door hours, and Enrichment sessions.
Maintain the online bank of handouts, videos, and worksheets on writing and learning topics asrequested.
Assist in updating and organizing data from the Writing and Learning Center scheduling software.
Assist in updating andorganizing data regarding the Academic Excellence program initiatives as requested.
Prepare and disseminate hard copies of teachingmaterials during Orientation or other informational sessions as requested.
Locate and order texts and materials as necessary andrequested.
Regularly update the office website.
Coordinate events including room bookings, food ordering, online event requests, andZoom facilitation.
Accurately reconcile the complete departmental credit card statements.
Add Writing Teaching Assistants andTeaching Fellows to the payroll and resolve timesheets, as necessary. 
Update and organize resources on the Academic Excellence Bridgessite as requested.
Leadership Equity, Achievement and Diversity (LEAD) Program
Provide administrative support for the RWULaw LEAD Program that focuses on building community and connections for incoming 1L students, especially BIPOC and first-generation lawstudents.
Post, collect, and disseminate applications.
Update surveys and disseminate as requested.
Coordinate travel andperform other duties as requested.
Office of Diversity and Outreach
Provide daily administrative support for the Directorof Diversity and Outreach, including, but not limited to, maintaining calendar, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondences, andmaintaining and respecting confidentiality, professional protocol, and individual privacy.
Regularly update the office website.
Accurately reconcile the complete departmental credit card statements.
Serve as administrative support on the Diversity and InclusionSteering Committee (DISC) and assist with project management for all the group's subcommittees.
Welcome a diverse range of students,faculty, and administrators who interact daily with the Office of Academic Success and the Office of Diversity and Outreach
Coordinateoffice events including flyer development, room bookings, food ordering, online-event requests, and Zoom facilitation.
Provide pre- andpost-event support for all events hosted by the Office of Diversity and Outreach
Event support includes, but is not limited to,maintenance coordination; set-up and registration; creation of nametags; and sending confirmation emails for all events hosted by theoffice. Requirements: Associate degree in a related field.
Three to five years of administrativeand project coordination experience.
Strong organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to setpriorities, meet deadlines, adapt to changes in priorities, and shift between tasks and jobs.
Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills, including the ability to communicate with various internal and external audiences to determine needs and conveyinformation.
Ability to work with a wide spectrum of students, including those from first-generation backgrounds, BIPOC communities,LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.
Ability to learn and apply web-posting techniques.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to maintain professional relationships with law students, faculty, and staff. PreferredQualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
