This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Import Analyst,Analyst, Supply & Logistics. This role will be onsite 5 days a week in Benton Harbor, MI.
This position is responsible for identifying and executing strategic initiatives and analyses involving North American import operations from overseas suppliers. Import activity will focus on finished goods, manufacturing components and service parts to include end to end ownership from point of origin through delivery to final destination. Duties will also involve heavy root cause analysis of issues and process improvements. This role will require collaborationwith third party logistics providers, overseas suppliers, various Whirlpool functions and Trade Partners. This position will also serve as backup to the other members of the group as needed and work collectively with other International Operations team members on identifying and implementing process improvements.
Your responsibilities will include
Act as a liaison to drive solutions and resolve issues between suppliers, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and Whirlpool internal functions such as deployment, production planning and distribution centers
Utilize various data sourcesto perform detailed analyses to drive improvement and identify opportunities for Whirlpool.
Oversight of Imports Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to include timeliness, and accuracy of activities. Drive corrective actions to meet or exceed agreed upon KPIs
Monitor supplier/carrier weekly allocations and identify opportunities to optimize.
Provide visibility of ocean activity across Supply Chain functions and Whirlpool Trade Partner(s)
Lead 3PL Performance Management and drive compliance and improvement
Drive standardization in processes and visibility reporting improvements
Support exception management at best costs (ie prioritization of containers vs risk of accessorials)
Lead strategic projects and consult on the best approach on issues with alternative solutions
Identify root cause of issues and put steps in place for resolution
English language proficiency
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's Degree
2+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business
Preferred skills and experiences
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, logistics, business management
In depth knowledge of import operations and international transportation
Strong problem solving skills and resourcefulness at seeking resolution and finding subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist
Work independently and properly prioritize workloads and other assignments
Multi-task timely/accurately with strong organization skills and attention to detail
Collaborate cross functionally
Make sound fact-based decisions in a timely manner even in the face of ambiguity
Communication skills including formal and informal and both written and verbal
Ability to think strategically
Project Management skills
Strong working knowledge of computers and software including: Google tools / MS Office apps
International / multicultural experience is desirable
