Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the EHR Support Analyst I position is part of the Operations & Technology Services Department. The EHR Support Analyst I functions as a crucial intermediary between Harris County Public Health and the organization's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Their role encompasses making and testing clinic-specific configuration changes, supporting work-flows, assisting end-users, and providing technical support for testing new functionality.



Duties & Responsibilities: Responds to end-user issues that are reported via the ticketing system. Documents problems and solutions within the ticketing system and escalates issues appropriately using proper method of escalation within the organization or to the appropriate vendor.
Identifies application problems utilizing basic or industry-accepted trouble shooting methods. Documents problems and solutions within the ticketing system and escalates issues appropriately using proper method of escalation within the organization or to the appropriate vendor.
Manages application implementation and/or upgrades including leading or assisting with applications and or device testing. Also, assists in developing basic reports for end users using work beach reporting
Acts as a liaison between the client and vendor to resolve software issues. Also, assists with staff training about EMR utilization during orientation, system implementation, and upgrades.

Requirements Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, IT or other related field. Experience: At least three (3) years of experience working within a Health Care Environment. At least five (5) years of experience in a technical support role Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and etc.
Physical Demands: Some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time. Travel within Harris County as needed will be required to support the end users.
