Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems is seeking a Test Engineer to become an instrumental part of their Radar Cross Section (RCS) Test Engineering Team at its Linthicum, MD campus. This Test Engineering role is within a lab environment and includes the design, planning and execution of RCS / Low Observable (LO) testing for individual programs. The test engineer has the responsibility for test planning, configuration of the test, model preparation, data collection and post-processing, as well as holding data reviews with program engineers. The role will include standard lab and facility upkeep as well as frequent use of hand tools, overhead cranes, and mobile elevated working platforms. On the job training is anticipated and will be required. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Provide Antenna Test Engineering support for RCS test facilities · LO test article configuration, mounting and testing · Troubleshooting radar system and data analysis issues during test · Support technicians with troubleshooting and training · Collaborate with design engineering for hardware and test improvements This position will be filled at the antenna test engineer or principal antenna test engineer Please note this is for a swing shift - 11 AM start time Basic Qualifications for Antenna Test Engineer: · BS Degree in science, engineering, or other STEM-related plus a minimum of 2 years relatable experience -or- an MS degree in areas described above · RF bench-testing or Antenna range/Compact range operator experience · Willingness to work in a laboratory environment as a Range Test Engineer fulltime including an anechoic chamber · Must be able to lift 50lbs on a routine basis · Must be willing to operate overhead cranes and mobile elevated working platforms on a routine basis · Active US Secret Level Security clearance with the ability to obtain Special Access Program Clearance is required to start · US Citizenship is required. Basic Qualifications for Principal Antenna Test Engineer: · BS Degree in science, engineering, or other STEM related plus a minimum of 5 years relatable experience or an MS degree in areas described above with a minimum of 3 years relatable experience · RF bench-testing or Antenna range/Compact range operator experience · Willingness to work in a laboratory environment as a Range Test Engineer fulltime including an anechoic chamber · Must be able to lift 50lbs on a routine basis · Must be willing to operate overhead cranes and mobile elevated working platforms on a routine basis · Active US Secret Level Security clearance with the ability to obtain Special Access Program Clearance is required to start · US Citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications · Experience working in a RCS test facility · Experience configuring and mounting products in an RCS test facility · Experience in the use of overhead cranes and mobile elevated working platforms · Experience in the use of hand tools · Experience maintaining an antenna range facility · Working knowledge of computational electromagnetic software and analysis techniques · Software development experience pertaining to radar cross section analysis Salary Range: $83,300 - $124,900 Salary Range 2: $102,400 - $153,600 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
