JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals. Role SummaryThe Architect role is responsible for working as part of a broader design and construction project team to realize projects from conception to completion. Industrial/Manufacturing projects such as consumer goods, battery manufacturing, food & beverage processing and automated distribution facility project types often utilize an integrated design-build delivery method. This position will work collaboratively with Industrial/Manufacturing owners and project teams through early engagement to ensure successful development of design documents and specifications. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.
Key Role Responsibilities - CoreParticipates in the creation of design solutions for a variety of project types through feasibility studies, and conceptual and schematic design and development activities throughout all phases of design and construction.Develops design concepts and documents during concept schematic and design development phases.Direct involvement in the development and production of the construction documents and specifications.Researches, specifies, and details materials, finishes, products and fixtures utilizing manufacturer product data.Develops, modifies, and reviews design concepts, production drawings and construction documents according to established standards and technical expertise.Participates in design and operational research, building & systems programming, site and building analysis and report documentation.Participates in preparing design presentations to clients, communities, and other pertinent stakeholders, including public agencies.Partners with project teams throughout the design and construction process.Coordinates directly with clients in the day-to-day project management of the design development and provides construction administration services.Observes construction activities and works with contractors to ensure successful execution of design intent.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.Communication skills, verbal and written – Intermediate.Ability to conduct effective presentations – Intermediate.Proficiency in MS Office – Intermediate.Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.Thorough knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project.Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.Proficiency with Autodesk Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max, and all Adobe programs and/or Google SketchUp.Experience with U.S. building design codes and material specific standards.Ability to think in a highly structured manner along all design disciplines while also having creativity to develop specialized solutions by anticipating potential challenges.EducationBachelor's degree in architecture or related field (Required).Degree from a NAAB accredited architecture program (Preferred).Experience5+ years architectural experience (Preferred).Cross-functional knowledge of the key engineering disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Structural, MEP) and relevant trades.General construction experience (Preferred).Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.May require extensive periods of travel.Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).Assignment location may include project sites and/or in the office.Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen.Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling.Benefits InformationThe benefits package aligned to this position is Professional Non-Union.
