ITW Medical is comprised of two strong medical product brands - Coeur and Filtertek - situated to proactively meet the needs of customers in the marketplace. The Filtertek product line is comprised of custom plastic insert molded filtration and flow control components for global OEM medical device customers.
This Team Leader position is based in an Assembly department managing 11 Assemblers. Outside people leadership, we desire candidates that demonstrate mechanical aptitude with the ability to make small repairs and adjustments to the equipment. In addition, this position will be expected to contribute to and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
'A Shift' schedule is 6:45 am - 7:00 pm, one week will work Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun and the following week will work Wed, Thurs, Fri.
General Accountability/Support: Observe QA and Regulatory practices to ensure all work is done in compliance.Attend daily, weekly, and monthly management meetings as needed.Generate reports as required for the Production Supervisor.Complete all special projects in a timely and professional manner.Participate in special projects and/or other assignments as required.Work overtime and odd schedules as required by workload.Serve as a member of the ITW Medical team in producing class II medical devices for distribution to our customers worldwide.Ensure every device is completed according to all Manufacturing Instructions and Operating Procedures.Practice and encourage courtesy and helpfulness among all team members.Become fully trained in all areas of the work that is performed in the specific production area.Ensure compliance with all safety programs and applicable OSHA standards.Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of manufacturing personnel in the plant. Evaluate work centers and utilize manpower in a manner that will maximize efficiency, quality, and safety.Make decisions on production and personnel matters to ensure a safe and orderly production environment.Ability to learn ERP system for data entry and transactions.Ability to communicate with staffing agencies as required.Team leaders are responsible for correcting non-standard behavior. When disciplinary action is required, Human Resources and Production Manager are to be advised.Promote Safety, Quality, and Production goals.Provide leadership and coaching by promoting teamwork and sharing successes of meeting goals.Ensure the plant is always presentable by monitoring housekeeping.Ensure a smooth transition by communicating from one shift to another.Verify shop orders for material and components issues.During shift monitor production levels, rejects, and downtime on machines, by physically being in the rooms and working with the people.Accountable for training of employees, work with employees to make sure they understand the job requirements and can perform the job.Any other duties as assigned by any supervisor or member of management.Perform yearly reviews of employees on shift.Verify employee punches in the payroll program. Keep accurate records of employee attendance.Approve vacation time for the staff on their shift to ensure we maintain adequate staffing to meet customer requirements.Qualifications: 3-5 years of related experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment overseeing production.High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.Knowledge and ability to read and understand instructions for ERP system and data recording.Knowledge of the Medical room requirements.Strong knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office software products. Ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets, charts, and graphs are required.Strong written and verbal communications skills.Requires detailed analysis and strong problem-solving abilities.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute ratios and percentages.Ability to maintain an attitude of professionalism when dealing with customers, vendors, and co-workers.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
