Assistant Controller

LHH is partnering with our Seymour-based financial services client who is seeking a polished and experienced Assistant Controller within the banking industry. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for assisting with and directing overall accounting activities; which includes preparation and administering accounting policies and directives, preparing all regulatory filings and assisting with the coordination of the year-end audit with external auditors and accounting staff. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings Ensures accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles Assists CFO in preparation of annual budget Assumes responsibility for the Bank's general ledger system and related activities Ensures bank-wide reconciliations are performed accurately, timely and in accordance with procedure Monitors and reviews all balance sheet account reconciliations Responsible for overseeing the daily cash management position of the bank Assumes responsibility for investment security portfolio recordkeeping and related activities Responsible for correspondent bank statement reconciliations and ensures outstanding issues are resolved Maintains the Bank's profitability module and analyzes result Responsible for monthly board report and other regulatory reports Responsible for the Bank's accounts payable function Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA required Minimum of 5 years of related experience; bank experience required Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools Exceptional communication and presentation skills If you are a qualified candidate and interested in confidentially exploring this career opportunity, please contact Angie Moller at ******.
