Role Overview: As an Assistant Designer, you will support the design team in creating and refining fashion collections. Your responsibilities will include preparing basic flat sketches, assisting with product specifications, and contributing to the development of color and trim materials. You will play a crucial role in attending fitting sessions, making revisions, and managing the administrative aspects of the design process.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare basic flat sketch designs and assist with product specifications.Support the creation of color bills of materials (B.O.M.s) and attend fitting sessions with the design manager.Make necessary revisions to sketches and design packages based on fitting feedback.Assist in researching local market trends and keeping abreast of current ideas.Manage administrative tasks related to the product design process, including preparation of technical packages and presentation boards.Understand and utilize the Product Data Management (PDM) process, handle email correspondence, and maintain organization of design materials.Collaborate with the Trim Department to ensure alignment with design concepts and current trends.Develop basic computer skills for design, including learning advanced technologies such as Adobe Illustrator and CAD programs.Demonstrate basic product, fabric, and garment construction knowledge, as well as a good sense of design and color.Qualifications: College degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred.At least one year of design experience, which may include summer jobs, internships, or other relevant roles.Basic computer knowledge with a willingness to learn new design technologies.Strong organizational and communication skills.Basic understanding of garment construction and design principles.Ability to perform basic flat sketches and have a good design and color sense.Why Join Our Client: Be part of a globally recognized brand with a commitment to innovation and quality.Opportunity to grow and develop your design skills in a collaborative and creative environment.Work in a supportive team atmosphere with access to advanced design tools and technologies.The target hiring compensation range for this role is $20.32 to $22.58 an hour.
