Job Description Summary 
The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage will support the goals of the Director of Food & Beverage and provide leadership and management for the Resort's Food & Beverage Division. Plan, organize and direct the work of employees and managers in the Food & Beverage Division while ensuring guest satisfaction and creating meaningful and lasting dining impressions. Demonstrate analytical skills, prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation. Be a role model for the hotel culture, demonstrate a solid work ethic, strong business acumen and a passion for service. 
The budgeted salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions
• Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline employees and managers in Food & Beverage operations to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met
• Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control while focusing on creative revenue generation solutions to maximize profit
• Maintain visibility in the operation, recognize and strengthen relationships with regular guests as well as cultivate relationships with new patrons
• The ability to work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef and Sous Chef to design a creative and memorable dining experience in all outlets
• Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular departmental meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
• Responsible for maintaining divisional headcount by working with the Talent Acquisition Team to ensure all outlets are staffed per budget and service standards
• Works in each F&B outlet as needed to cover days off, manager vacancy or support business volumes
• Responsible for guest complaint resolution
• Responsible for conducting daily inspection of F&B operational areas and storage facilities to ensure cleanliness and condition of all spaces
• Maintains a strong knowledge of Forbes and Michelin standards and works with department managers and Training Manager to facilitate regular departmental training
• Drive planning and execution all special holiday events and functions with a focus on innovation
• Act as a liaison between F&B and other departments when exploring new business opportunities, creating P&Ls, business plans, etc. to analyze viability of new amenities, products, services
• Support the F&B Director with planning and execution of weekly F&B meeting 
• Work with F&B Director to build the annual divisional budget based on short- and long-term needs of the division. 
Use Hotel Effectiveness scheduling tool to make division schedule and monitor daily labor cost versus budget
Participate in weekly/monthly labor review with Finance team 
• Responsible for managing liquor and beer costs, storing and distribution procedures for the division, reporting any discrepancies to the Food and Beverage Director
• Identify revenue generating and expense saving opportunities and work with F&B Director to implement programs
Qualifications • Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5 years progressive Food and Beverage managerial experience in all Food and Beverage operations preferred
• Strong wine knowledge, knowledge of food and cooking methods, ability to work well with people, strong organization and supervisory skills, good public relation skills, professional appearance
• Must be fluent in English
• Must be able to handle a multitude of duties and to work well under high levels of stress
Additional Information Supervision Given and Received 
Given: Exercises general supervision over The Little Nell Food & Beverage Department. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under general supervision of the Director of Food & Beverage. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor's directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Work Environment and Physical Demands 
• Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time 
• Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to lift, push or pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
