This position requires an advance working knowledge for the systematic collection, analysis, and reporting of data to inform institutional and unit-level planning, decision-making, evaluation and accountability reporting.
Must be able to work closely and collaboratively within a team environment to define data needs and the design of reports for core functional area and campus use. A major focus is regional and programmatic assessment and accreditation with the ability toward continuous improvement of programs, processes, and service needs.
Must provide direct support to the Director and serve as the Data Administrator back-up for the delivery and verification, validation, and certification of university data with federal, national and state agency surveys and file reporting for mandated data requirements. Must participate in the Council of Data Administrator meetings and communications.
JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities: As an Associate Director within Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRIE), this position is required to provide direct support to the Director of IRIE while helping the Data Analyst (Scientist) be more efficient. This includes delivery, analysis, and maintenance of historical type data for mandatory file reports, ad-hoc requests, national and state agency surveys (to include, but not limited to IPEDS, US News, Princeton Review, College Board, Student Clearinghouse and CUPA) and other internal and external reporting.Working as an IRIE team, develops predictive models and forecasts that inform institutional performance-related metrics, policies, and strategy development.Focus on the delivery of faculty, staff, and employee data and maintain a close relationship with Human Resources and the Provost Office to identify faculty/staff classifications, demographics, salaries, and other pertinent data necessary for federal, national, and state reporting.As a backup IPEDS Key Holder, the Associate Director will be responsible for ensuring that regulatory survey collections are completed in a timely manner by coordinating the collection and reporting of accurate data from appropriate university units and then validating data through the appropriate data systems.Assists in the design, development, implementation, and management of the informational databases and other data delivery systems that link the supply of data and the demand of data in the most efficient and effective manner.This position provides direct support for strategic plan directives/measures and enrollment management initiatives with needed processes for delivering mandated reporting elements, analysis, and visualizations for decision support.Responsible for ensuring that all data is governed properly with required documentation of technical and non-technical aspects of data collection, maintenance, and applications of how the data is governed across systems and units. This requires working collaboratively with units across divisions to review and evaluate current business practices and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and streamlining.Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited institution in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Education, or a related field of study.3 years of relevant working experience in a quantitative field with assessment experience. (Additional post-bachelor's course work and projects may substitute for relevant experience.In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in a quantitative field of Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Education, or a related major field of study.3+ years of working experience in a quantitative field with assessment experience.Conveniently located along I-4 between Tampa and Orlando, Lakeland is home to Florida Polytechnic University and many other businesses and attractions.
