POSITION SUMMARYThe Associate Director of Development, UH Manoa Athletics (Associate Director) is a key member of the University of Hawai'i (UHF) Development team, focused on identifying, engaging, and soliciting prospective donors for major and leadership gifts that support the vision of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Athletics Director. The Associate Director will close gifts and steward donors to ensure positive and mutually beneficial relationships.
REPORTS TO Vice President for Development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSpecific responsibilities and performance expectations include:
Build and actively manage a portfolio of 75-80 major gift prospects.Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors for major gifts of $25,000 and above.Participate actively in the UHF Prospect Management Process.Develop a clear understanding of UH Manoa Athletics and its philanthropic opportunities.Steward current and past donors to assure ongoing involvement and increased giving.Work as a positive and productive member of the UHF Development Division.Assist with additional development functions as assigned.EVALUATIONThe Associate Director will meet annually with his/her supervisor to set a plan for the year, including numeric goals for responsibilities and professional development. Progress will be reviewed at the end of each year.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESMinimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a non-profit setting, preferably in development or educational organizations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.Ability to work effectively in a dynamic organization.Professional, reliable, and a team player.Sensitivity to confidential information.Experience in higher education is a plus.WORKING CONDITIONSThe Associate Director will primarily work in an office environment, may need to visit various locations, and must have a valid driver's license. The position may require working evenings or weekends and exceeding a 40-hour work week.
