Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of programs. Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies. Represents the program in various national and international fora. Conducts research, designs new initiatives, writes publishable articles and papers, collaborates with others, and designs programs. May supervise staff. Performs other related duties as required. ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS: Working closely with the Vice Chair for Education and the Director of Pediatric Fellowship Programs. The Associate Director for Pediatric Fellowship Programs oversees coordination of all fellowship areas within Pediatrics, which includes 16 programs with a total of 112 fellows. Serve as a team leader and supervisor to 7 fellowship program coordinators. Lead strategic planning and implementation efforts for 16 pediatric fellowship programs. Manage accreditation and all regulatory requirements and meet relevant deadlines. Manage/monitor the Departmental Fellowship budget. Serve as primary administrative point of contact for Pediatric Fellowship Programs, as a liaison to the School of Medicine (SOM), Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and national-level organizations as required. Serve as consultant to fellowship program directors on accreditation, operational, HR, and other matters. Represent Pediatric Education Programs at the national level by attending conferences (such as AUR and ACGME) and engaging in special work groups. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a field related to the specific program as indicated and five years of program-related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Master's degree preferred. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree and managing or directing multiple programs in a large and complex organizational setting preferred. Prior supervisory experience and prior medical education experience preferred. NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of the department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
