The Energy Security and Climate Change Program at CSIS is seeking a passionate and driven Research Associate or Associate Fellow (title dependent on experience) to join our team. This role will focus on novel and high-impact analysis of global markets in oil and gas, with an emphasis on market dynamics, geopolitics, and quantitative analysis.

The annual salary for this position is $75,000-$110,000.
Essential duties and responsibilitiesEssential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
Research, Writing, and Project Management (75-80%)Identify and research key issues in global energy markets for oil and/or gas, geopolitical developments, and demand and supply forecasts.Analyze energy and climate policy, clean energy development, trade and technology policies, and geopolitical developments.Contribute to writing reports, analyses, editorials, and multimedia products.Represent the Program and the Director at meetings, workshops, and public or private events.Administrative Duties (20-25%)Manage projects including coordination of publications, events, and multimedia productions.Ensure timely execution of internal and external communications regarding project assignments.Organize and execute meetings, conferences, and workshops, managing logistics as needed.Additional tasks as assigned by the Director.Knowledge, education, and experienceMinimum 2 years of direct experience in energy market analysis, with a focus on geopolitics or economics.Master's degree or equivalent related work experience in the field.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Sound judgment and a creative outlook.Physical requirements and work conditionsThe physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee working in an office environment.
