Job Description
This Associate General Counsel position handles a wide range of transactional law-related issues with a focus on construction law.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Review, draft, and negotiate various types of construction agreements, including but not limited to subcontracts (all payment types), purchases orders, sub-subcontracts, consulting agreements, equipment rental agreements, payment and performance bonds, and various waivers and releases.
Work closely with sales team and project management teams.
Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to the construction law, and provide proactive, strategic advice.
Liaison with outside law firms to meet Company goals.
Settlement of claims and disputes.
Track and keep current organized records of each contract, dispute, or claim.
Secondary Duties
Support as key member of legal team.
Filing of preliminary notices and lien notices.
Presenting complex information in a narrative or summary to executive team.
Provide backup to other attorneys on any matter in their absence.
Tasks and projects as assigned by General Counsel.
Skills Required
Advanced knowledge and experience in construction law from a general contractor or subcontractor perspective.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfort interacting with various employees across the Company, including management and field employees.
Professionalism and respect for others with an understanding of "servant leadership".
Experience working in a multi-stakeholder environment with the ability to problem solve and develop solutions.

Education and Experience
Required:
