The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a statewide networksupporting entrepreneurs and business owners through no-cost, confidential consulting and business education. Our regional expertise iseasily accessible at numerous locations across the state.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position works with the WisconsinSmall Business Development Center state director, the state leadership team, center directors and personnel to delivery high qualitystatewide services in support of SBDC customers: entrepreneurs, business owners, funders and stakeholders. This position reportsdirectly to the Wisconsin SBDC network state director.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES PrimaryResponsibilities (40%)  Hire and directly supervise state-based consultants. Work with the individual SBDCcenters to integrate these consultants into regional service delivery Oversee the onboarding process of newly hired employees inthe network and provide guidance to new center directors Design, manage and improve work processes involving the network¿ssmall business consulting operations, working with each center director to implement improvements Work with the state director,state office management team and service center directors on the development of the statewide SBDC strategic plan and implementation ofobjectives Develop, plan and supervise other SBDC statewide initiatives that are identified in the statewide strategic plan Encourage and support service center experimentation and pilot initiatives that are in alignment with statewide SBDC and SBA goals Communicate regularly with SBDC and SBA offices and participate in SBDC events  Oversee SBDC statewide meetings andevents, ensuring agendas represent the needs of the network  Operations & Administration(30%)  Review quarterly comparisons of personnel and center performance against goals. Work with centerdirectors to translate performance findings into priorities for improvement and change as needed Review and design improvements tothe service center¿s successful Entrepreneurial Training Program to stay current with the needs of entrepreneurs, WEDC andcontributions to SBA metric achievement Work with center directors to implement program changes and provide performance reports tosponsors and other relevant partners and stakeholders Compliance (20%)  Work with the statedirector on policies, procedures, and operations of the SBDC, ensuring products and services are responsibly managed for efficiency, qualityand compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies including those of the ASBDC Provide coordination and supportpreceding and during the ASBDC accreditation process Oversee the development and adherence to the Wisconsin SBDC network reportingneeds Promote and manage statewide tools for the network including confluence and Vertical IQ Participate in external andinternal programmatic center reviews Other Duties (10%)  Perform other duties asassigned by SBDC State Director MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business relatedfield Minimum of five years' experience in any combination of the following: program management experience, including reportingresponsibilities, business advising or training of small businesses in management or technical skills, Small Business Development Centerprogram experience and management or ownership of a small business Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships withcolleagues, funding partners and the public PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in businessrelated field Grants management experience Familiarity or experience with SBA funded programs and SBDC related programsand processes Experience with specialized management programs: CRM, grants management or accounting enterprise systems, such asCenter Dynamics, Foundant, and WISER DIVERSITY STATEMENT

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 
TheAssociate State Director, WI SBDC (Official Title: Administrative Associate Director) is considered a full-time, Academic Staff positionthat is salaried and FLSA exempt. Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within the range of $90,000 - $110,000commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.
