This Lead Compliance Attorney position will manage the administration, direction, and coordination of compliance attorneys. The compliance team provides advice and counsel to management and programs on various matters including ethics and conflicts of interest, state and federal audit compliance, and compliance reviews of facilities, offices, and programs.

Responsibilities of the Lead Attorney include: Supervision, management, and mentoring of the team's work goals and performance, as well as ensuring consistent application of administrative policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Three years of experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing and trying cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws or administrative policies.

Legal Requirements: In accordance with Section 7-101, Nebraska Revised, Reissued Statutes of 1943, incumbents in this class must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience managing or leading legal staff. Current knowledge of or the ability to quickly grasp compliance principles and regulation drafting and promulgation. Facilitate solutions between multiple parties, interact with other governmental agencies, the public, and representatives of parties involved in a case; formulate legal opinions and recommendations based on legal research and investigations; conduct or coordinate legal research interpret and apply statutes, case law, decisions of judicial and administrative hearings, and administrative rules and policies; assign and evaluate work of assigned staff.
