Automation Professional

As an automation professional, the desired applicant will share our vision to provide industry leading services to our clients on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast. A diverse background in automation and control system planning, design, programming and maintenance is required.
MPE is looking for the following experience: Degree or Diploma in a related field from an accredited post-secondary institutionLicensed or eligible for licensing or certification with EGBC / ASTTBCExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsBackground in electrical & instrumentation systemsExperience with municipal water & wastewater systemsExperience with a variety of automation software and hardware systems, including;Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, Emerson, Horner, Automation Direct PLCsVTScada, iFIX, FactoryTalk, AVEVA SCADA softwareRed Lion, Maple, Allen Bradley, Automation Direct HMIsCellular and spread spectrum radio communication infrastructureControl system networking, VPN, Routers, Switches, OT infrastructureExperience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering teamWillingness to travel in order to support maintenance and commissioning tasksProgramming and testing of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systemsOn-site commissioning and startupSupporting local clients by troubleshooting control systems via remote access or on-siteWork and coordinate with contractorsAssess existing control systemsDevelop control system upgrade strategiesImplement / specify secure network and remote access schemesEducating clientsThe individual must be self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team. Since MPE will consider junior and senior candidates, the salary range depends on the experience of the candidate and may range from $60,000 to $110,000 per year.
