The Opportunity:Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an experiencedElectrical Forepersonto join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario. Hemlo is undergoing a targeted electrification project. Establishing world class operating practices on the backbone of a large encompassing electrical and fibre system.Working a rotation of 14-shifts on / 14-shifts off, this position is a "drive-in/drive-out" role if you reside outside the Hemlo Operations area.Shifts are continuous day shift.Reporting to theBarminco Project Manager and Maintenance Superintendentthe successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers and the day-to-day activities of the mine Electricians.More specifically, ourElectrical Forepersonwill:Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures and ensure the crews are also in complianceDirect the underground Electricians and provide guidance for daily tasksSupport the mining group to ensure there is minimal downtime of equipment, mine services, etc.Assist in the implementation and maintenance of underground tele-remoting with scoops as well as surface tele-remoting operationsAssist in the installation of Sandvik Multilite operations across the mineProvide constant feedback, and coach crews to develop/improve performanceWork closely with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage costs and identify process improvement opportunitiesWork closely with our client's counterparts on various projects throughout the mineAssist in electrical reticulation design for operating levels, installing:Splitter boxesPTO'sPump startersPerforms other related work as assignedSkills and Experience:Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of othersOntario Provincial Trade License or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification5 to 7 years' experience working in an underground mineUnderground Hard Rock Miner Common CoreMinimum 3 years' experience in a leadership roleExperience working with high voltage electric mining equipment and underground electrical reticulationBe knowledgeable with Canadian and Ontario Provincial Electrical Code as well as the CSA M421-00 codes related to underground miningStrong communication, organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently with limited supervision while still being a contributing member of a teamAbility to work in a cross-cultural environment What we offer:Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. can offer you a role where you will be challenged and valued for your skills and experience.
