The Opportunity:Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for Mining Engineers in Training (EIT) to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.Rotation is 14-shifts on / 14-shifts off. (FIFO/DIDO) Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while supporting continuous improvement and mine optimization projects geared towards achieving key performance targets.More specifically, our EIT's will:* Spend time completing underground operational rotations, exposing yourselves to:Underground haulage fleet operation and managementUnderground development cycle operation and managementExposure to bolt, mesh, bore cycling with jumbo drillsUnderground services and construction crewDevelopment and production blastingLonghole operation* Exposure to site financial and commercial operations* Prepare monthly contractor claims and reports* Manage databases and conduct self-managed continuous improvement projects on site* Provide support for analysis and data visualization* Assist short range planning department as requiredSkills and Experience:* Commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of others* Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering* Underground Mining experience is considered an asset* Strong analytical skills with strong organizational, time management and communication abilities* Experience with PowerBI and relational databases is considered an asset* Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams* Knowledge of AutoCAD, Deswik is considered an asset* Willingness to gain underground operational experience* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team and independently* Valid Driver's license* Ability to work in a cross-cultural environmentWhat we offer:Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. can offer you a role where you will be challenged and valued for your skills and experience.
