JOB TITLE: Bilingual Family Support Specialist

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time

SCHEDULED HOURS: 40hrs/wk (Monday-Friday; flexible hours-including evenings as needed)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Functional Family Therapy- Foster Care (FFT-FC) Interested in helping a foster child?

Functional Family Therapy- Foster Care (FFT-FC) is an evidence-based in-home clinical intervention with a relational focus on the family unit for DCF-involved children.
In addition to clinical treatment, FFT-FC also offers corresponding case management services with a Family Specialist.
Birth Families and Foster Families are the primary unit of intervention.
FFT-FC is built on the core FFT model; it is completed with the foster family and moves to your working with the birth family when the youth is preparing for reunification and after.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct initial assessments including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying protective and risks factors, and developing analysis of hierarchy and relational assessment within the family.
Works collaboratively with FFT Foster care team members to provide interventions consistent with fidelity to evidence based model.
Performs home and community-based care to address clinical needs of clients through model adherent FFT FC interventions.
Continually assess the levels of engagement of all key participants and collaborate with supervisor and stakeholders to overcome barriers to engagement.
Documents ongoing client progress and outcomes consistent with model fidelity.
Assist families on how to identify and prioritize family needs, and how to navigate and access community resources.
Conduct ongoing both model-specific and Foster Care adherent risk assessments and interventions for every family including tailored safety planning, crisis management, and model adherent interventions that target decreasing risk and increasing protective factors.
Attends all required FFT training and utilizes videotaping as required.
Complete Care4 documentation as required.
Participate in weekly group supervision meetings, to update supervisor and co-workers and regularly attend individual supervision.
Identify client emergencies and potential crisis situations.
Provide tracking information on client visits and give notice of termination or request for extension.
Demonstrates competency in age-related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
Provide FFT Fostercare training to foster parents.
Additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: BA in human services required (social work, sociology, psychology or similar degree).


Experience: 2 years of experience in field of study and experience providing case management services, coordinating systems of care, working with complex family systems and providing in home services.
Preference will be given to candidates that have the following knowledge base: Child Development, Trauma reactions and impact on brain development, and community services.


Additional Qualifications: Bilingual (Spanish speaking) required.

COMPENSATION*:

Starting at $17.71/hr minimum, and up commensurate upon experience.


*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as, adherence to our internal equity policy.
Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives.
(Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
