Board Certified Behavior Analyst Position Description:The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) works in cooperation with the staff at the New Directions Partial Hospitalization site; participates in the development of a coordinated positive behavior intervention program; consults with leadership team concerning appropriate learning strategies and positive behavior interventions to support students to access instruction and to make progress in the least restrictive environment.Board Certified Behavior Analyst Duties and Responsibilities:Work in conjunction with the Program Manager, Clinical Team, and Academic Team to analyze the current Behavior Management System.Develop a structure and process with new recommendations for New Directions Behavior Management System.Create a plan in which the sensory room can assist in the behavior management plan by creating an environment that promotes calm behavior, supports sensory integration, and provides a therapeutic setting.Train employees in new and innovative techniques to work with behavior management kids. Give additional tools when processes are not working, model techniques and train staff when appropriate.Work in collaboration with the Program Manager, Clinical Team, and Academic Team to assess and develop a plan for students that requires a Functional Behavioral Analysis and provide information for the IEP.Create a plan to help give guidance to families once the school day ends that continue the behavior management process that we expect at New Directions.Essential Job Functions:The employee shall be Board Certified in Applied Behavior Analysis within six months of the positions start date and must be current while employed.Complete the training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and be able to complete necessary requirements on an ongoing basis.Be able to communicate with a wide variety of families, children, employees, school district employees, and non CRCSI professionals.Must be able to accurately document in our electronic health record system and academic record.Work efficiently to meet program standards and deadlines for assigned tasks.Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stand, sit, hold, use of manual dexterity for extended periods of time, while accompanying a child, or assisting another employee with behaviors.Must be able to quickly respond to sounds and emergent situations.Accurately assess children and make appropriate recommendations.Tasks:The following list indicates the general responsibilities of work performed by this position. It does not list a comprehensive inventory of all responsibilities required.Attend weekly clinical unit meetings.Plans and provides or supports the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices relative to the management of students behaviors, including students with Autism, emotional disturbance, other disabilities as well as students with 504 plans and/or in general education.Collects and analyzes data as part of assessment, developing and monitoring.Consults with Leadership Team, teachers, and therapists in developing, monitoring, and evaluating behavior management strategies for general and special education students.Keeps abreast of current research and information in the areas of behavior management and provides training for staff in areas related to behavior management strategies, avoidance of aversive techniques, and managing assaultive behavior.May attend IEP meetings for especially difficult cases, only when needed.Performs other duties as assigned.Education: Masters degree in applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or related fieldExperience: Preferred successful completion of internship and/or formal training in the analysis of behavior and instructional strategies training related to collaborating with clients who have pervasive developmental disorders and related disorders, their parents, and other agencies collaborating with clientCertification: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification (obtain certification within 6 months of employment)Other Requirements:Restraint Training (TCI)Proficient in basic computer skillsProficient in the use of Electronic Medical RecordsChild Abuse History ClearanceFederal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) ClearancePennsylvania State Criminal Clearance (PSP) Pennsylvania State Criminal Clearance (PSP)Job Type: Full-time
