We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Building Inspector to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Perform field inspections during various stages of constructionRead and examine plans and specifications when requiredReport violations and maintain files/recordsPerform other related duties as requiredSKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technologyInterpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutionsMust possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clienteleExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood time management, organization, and attention to detail skillsDemonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgmentEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 3 years of inspection experience requiredICC Special Inspector Certifications including:Reinforced ConcreteStructural MasonrySpray-applied FireproofingPrestressed concreteTall Mass TimberSoilsStructural Steel and BoltingStructural WeldingPrior professional working knowledge of at least 3 of the following standards:American Society for the Testing and Materials (ASTM)National Institute for Certification and Engineering Technologies (NICET)American Concrete Institute (ACI)American Welding Society (AWS)Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (ASHTO)National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)ICC Building Inspector certification preferredICC Inspector certifications in additional trade(s) or ability to obtain preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredValid driver's license and a good driving record requiredCOMPENSATION: SAFEbuilt pays competitive wages and has a strong benefits offering.
