As we innovate in the government contracting sector, we seek a motivated Business Development Trainee on a path to becoming a skilled Capture Manager. This role involves learning the government contracting lifecycle, leading capture efforts, and driving strategic growth through aligning our solutions with client needs.
Position Overview: As a Business Development Trainee, you will start by gaining a comprehensive understanding of the government contracting industry and its business development lifecycle. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship to help you grow into a Capture Manager role. This position is ideal for recent graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field who are keen to develop exceptional consulting, writing, and business development skills within the government contracting sector.
\n Key Responsibilities:Industry Learning: Acquire in-depth knowledge of the government contracting business development lifecycle, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and capture strategies.Skill Development: Develop strong consulting and writing skills, along with other essential competencies needed for success in the government contracting sector.Opportunity Research: Conduct thorough research to identify potential new business opportunities. Utilize search skills and critical thinking to analyze market trends and client needs.Client Interaction: Build and maintain professional relationships with government and industry leaders. Represent the company in meetings and networking events.Cold Calling: Demonstrate a proactive approach by making cold calls to potential clients, seeking out new opportunities, and expanding our business network.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with technical, financial, and legal teams to ensure accurate and compelling proposal submissions.Administrative Support: Manage documentation, track proposal deadlines, and support overall business development efforts. Skills/Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field. Recent graduates with a relevant degree are highly encouraged to apply.Skills: Strong research skills, search capabilities, and critical thinking. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Attributes: Strong desire to develop into a sales/business development resource. Enthusiasm for making cold calls and pursuing new business opportunities. Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.Experience: Previous internships or experience in business development, capture management, or government contracting is a plus but not required.
