Job Description

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

Responsible for maintaining general cleanliness of cabanas and surrounding area.
Ensure overall safety of guests in pool area.
Ensure supplies and set-ups are completed in cabanas prior to cabana rental.
Answer telephone and confirm cabana reservations.
Coordinate daily cabana seating arrangements.
Be knowledgeable of our property and the services offered.
Offer the guest additional services.
Provide guests with information regarding cabana amenities and pool facility at time of seating.
Anticipates guest's needs, respond promptly.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times by resolving complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Work closely with pool and beverage management to ensure that the highest level of service is provided to cabana guests.
Coordinate the cleaning of cabanas at the end of each day, to include removing dishes, food, and trash.
Remove pool towels and return them to designated areas.
Assist in the sale of cabanas by verbally conveying the benefits of renting a cabana to hotel guests.
Notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions or items in need of repair, to include misting system, refrigerator, TV, telephones, curtains, etc.
Respect the privacy and anonymity of all guests or celebrities that might utilize cabanas.
Meet all departmental standards.
Perform all other job-related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Ability to deal with a number of situations requiring initiative and good judgment.
Ability to effectively deal with internal/external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact and diplomacy.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.
Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints, with particular attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Ability to enforce all rules in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Typical physical / mental demands

Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to complete job requirements and communicate with other employees.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in case of emergency situations and to read caution and/or safety notices.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language clearly to ascertain and document important information, to follow written and/or verbal instructions and to provide clear direction/guidance. Ability to relate to all levels of management, guests and employees in verbal/written form.
Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry a maximum of 25lbs or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 75 lbs. on an intermittent basis and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including: multi-line telephone.
Ability to stand, move and work throughout area including walking up to 5 miles, climbing stairs/step-ladders and/or sit at designated station for duration of the shift.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to understand verbal/written requests/inquiries from Assistant Pool Manager, Spa/Pool Manager, guests and co-workers.
Ability to work outdoors in high temperatures

Typical Working Condition:

May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to: second hand smoke, excessive noise, and constant interaction with the general public.
Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.

Education Requirements

Highschool diploma or equivalent.

. Preferred

Previous experience as a Cabana Host.
Previous experience with pools.
Previous experience in high-volume service venue.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
