This is an entry-level position. 1-2 years of cabling experience is preferred.

They should be knowledgeable or have the aptitude to learn telecommunications standards, as well as be able to understand customer needs to provide recommendations. The Technician will consistently provide clear and concise communication to the project manager and/or customer via email and phone. The chosen candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a high sense of urgency. The Technician must be able to travel and work out of town on a consistent basis (75% Travel). The work schedule, including out of town work as needed, may include weekends and holidays. Responsibilities:Under general supervision of the lead tech, more experienced techs and management:Pulling/Installing and supporting CAT 5/CAT6/CAT6a cable.Terminating, testing, certifying, and labeling CAT5, CAT6, CAT6a, and Single/Multi Mode fiber.Building out complete IDF/MDF, including installing Racks, Cabinets, and ladder racking.Drilling, cutting ceiling tiles, penetrating firewalls, installing UL-approved fire penetration solution including fire sleeves and fire stopsInstalling various network devices, such as wireless endpoints, digital signage, and security camerasTesting, verifying, and/or certifying installed cables, including copper and fiberTroubleshooting and repairing copper and fiber connection issuesInstall, cut, and bend EMT conduit and raceway as needed to complete pathwaysContribute to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks as neededSafely operate scissor and boom lift indoors and outAbility to work together effectively and professionally with internal and external customersAbility to communicate verbally through use of phone, email, and text continuously throughout dayAbility to drive for business purposes and maintain a good driving recordRequirements: High school diploma required1-2 years cabling experience, desiredMust be organized, detail-oriented, multi-taskerProficient with Microsoft OfficeA technical understanding of voice, data, and fiber optic systems is desiredMust be able to create detailed documentationCapable of interfacing with the customer and providing exceptional serviceAbility to ascend and descend ladders and continuously position yourself to pull cable or reach cabling in tight, low places as required throughout the dayAbility to differentiate between colors for termination requirementsPhysical Demands/Working Conditions: Up to 75% travel to off-site locations. Ability to read, write, and communicate orally and written to external and internal customers and employees. Normal vision and normal hearing with or without correction. Ability to move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. periodically throughout the workday. In this position, you will need to move around the job site or office, occasionally ascend and descend a ladder to install cabling, remain in a stationary position, and continuously position yourself to pull cable or reach cabling in tight, low places throughout the day. Must be able to perform tasks requiring hand and feet coordination and repetitive hand and wrist motions.
