Purpose To perform particle characterization tests and procedures in the laboratory on a variety of samples (including foods, pharmaceuticals, paints & coatings, metals, plastics, cosmetics and raw ingredients) under direct supervision, consistent with company training and established test methods and procedures.
Education/Experience Requirements B.S.
degree in chemistry, biology, physics, math or related science Multitasking and detail-oriented focus are a must Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with basic laboratory equipment preferred Experience in cGMP environment desired Demonstrates:
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, professionalism, & mutual respect Analytical reasoning skills, with a desire to learn more and a commitment to quality Ability to work across all functions/levels as part of a team Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Good safety practices and contributes to maintaining a safe work environment Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides particle characterization service and testing for clients in accordance with quality standards and established test methods and/or techniques. Utilizes accepted industry procedures and practices in line with company policy requirements. Presents analytical findings and reports in writing to Laboratory Management / authorized trained team member for review.
Refers any discrepancies and/or deviations to the mentor and/or management for authorization. Primary focus is performing routine/reoccurring analytical tests (unless directed otherwise by management) during which the individual uses his/her knowledge, training, and judgement and exercises discretion as to whether their supervisor or the client should be consulted in the testing process. Independently determines when to apply PTL's cGMP quality system during analytical work based on training received. Delivers business value to clients by providing accurate, high quality results in a timely manner. Results oriented, goal-driven attitude that recognizes ownership of each project. Receives formalized on-the-job training in both lab work and overall business systems at PTL. Interacts with clients verbally and in writing. Demonstrates potential for becoming an expert in a core analytical department.
