Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. The CFO will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and operations of the company, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business as it continues to grow. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as assisting with managing relationships with investors, lenders, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy to support growth objectives. Lead the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling. Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow planning and ensure the availability of funds as needed. Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions. Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Present financial reports to the Co-CEOs and Board of Directors. Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks. Implement appropriate financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets. Capital Structure Management: Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing. Develop and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial partners. Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring that the company operates within approved financial parameters. Implement cost control measures to improve profitability. Prepare and Analyze Multifamily and Mixed Use Developments: Analyze multifamily developments financed with the Low-Income Tax Credit, prepare financial projections and evaluate potential investments, create Preliminary Investment Reviews (PIRs) which provide detailed information on proposed investments, and screen LIHTC deals presented by other financial analysts within the firm for approval. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members. Technology and Systems: Oversee the selection and implementation of financial systems and technologies to support business operations and improve financial management. Expertise in Tax Credits: Deep understanding and experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and Historic Tax Credits (HTC) are essential. The CFO will ensure that the company maximizes these opportunities and remains compliant with all regulations related to these credits. Qualifications: Experience: 10+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role. Experience in real estate development, construction, or a related industry is highly preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or CPA designation is strongly preferred. Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial strategy, corporate finance, and capital markets. Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and drive business growth. Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization. Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems, including advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial modeling tools. Compliance Knowledge: Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements, with specific expertise in LIHTC and HTC. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex financial challenges. Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience $120,000- $150,000 Paid time off.
