GGG companies provide strength in sourcing, insurance, finance, logistics, food safety, and information technology, and supply the needs of retailers, distributors, food service chains, hotels, cruise lines, and food manufacturers alike. GGG is seeking a self-motivated and results oriented Inventory Claims Coordinator to handle all aspects of transportation, warehouse, and supplier claims. In this role, the successful candidate will interact and communicate with all internal departments, external vendors, and customers to mitigate, remedy, and minimize potential losses. Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Communication with external vendors as follows: Steamship liners – for issues that may occur during ocean travels Truck carriers – for discrepancies and issues during deliveries to customers and other warehouses Warehouses ensure accuracy of stored inventory by reconciling monthly inventory reports Suppliers – for issues regarding manufacturing/production process • Enter and track claims in internal system • Research and analyze incidents in order to determine validity of claim and potential loss • Evaluate and recommend timely settlement and claim resolution to management • Identify and gather all relevant information including documentation and applicable invoices to submit for a formal claim statement • Provide guidance and instruction to vendors on corrective action measures • Generate reports and conduct trend analysis to identify repetitive patterns with external clients • Work cross-functionally to mitigate loss of old, surplus, and out of date inventory with salvaging efforts • Process Certificate of Liability Insurance requests and maintain database • Assist AR with customer deductions related to shortages, damages, overages, returns, and rejections • Coordinate with Logistics to assist in the movement of (damaged) product • Provide updates on progress regarding incidents to all parties involved Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and claims processing experience • One to three years of experience handling cargo claims preferred • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel a must • Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment • Must be detail-oriented and organized and possess good time management skills • Creative problem-solving skills • Exposure to Accounts Receivable is a plus Our Benefits We care about your total well-being and will support you with the following, subject to your location and role.
