Position Summary:
American Paper Supply is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Class A Driver to join our Last-Mile Delivery team. As a Class A Driver, you will be a key player in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of goods to our valued customers across the Tri-State Area. Responsibilities Include:
Safe and Timely Delivery: Operate a Class A commercial vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers in the Tri-State Area. Route Planning: Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, delivery schedules, and customer locations. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and report any issues promptly. Maintain cleanliness and perform basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including courteous interactions with customers and assistance with unloading goods. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the Ops manager, providing updates on delivery progress and addressing any issues or delays. Documentation: Complete accurate and timely delivery documentation, including proof of delivery, mileage logs, and any other required paperwork. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant federal and state regulations governing the operation of commercial vehicles. Technology Proficiency: Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to efficiently manage routes, track deliveries, and communicate with the operations team. Safety Mindset: Always prioritize safety, following established safety procedures and protocols during vehicle operation and deliveries. Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes in delivery schedules, routes, or other operational requirements. Team Collaboration: Assist the Operations Manager as directed, including but not limited to providing input on route optimization, participating in team meetings, and supporting the overall success of the last-mile delivery operations. Ideal Candidate will have:
Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL). Clean driving record with no major violations. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Class A Driver. Knowledge of the Tri-State Area roads and routes. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift and carry heavy items. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
