Job Title: Cleaning Crew Team Member
Compensation: $16/hour
Schedule: Full or part-time, Mon-Fri, open availability preferred. Hours vary between 10am and 7pm
Location: Town Lake Animal Center 1156 West Cesar Chavez Austin, TX 78703
POSITION SUMMARY: The basic function of the Cleaning Crew is to ensure all assigned areas of APA! are clean and in excellent, working condition. Key functions of the Cleaning
Crew include ensuring public spaces are tidy, fully stocked with needed supplies, and clear of debris and undesirable items. The Cleaning Crew reports to the Facilities Manager, and regularly interacts with staff and volunteers working on site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ? Assist with cleaning and sanitation of assigned non-animal areas, primarily buildings with
public/visitor access
? Sweep and mop floors of assigned buildings
? Clean and/or dust all countertops, shelves, tables, and hanging art
? Empty and clean refrigerators on an announced schedule
? Remove all debris from around the grounds at each assigned facility, as time allows
? Empty all non-animal area trash and recycling cans inside and outside for all areas in
use
? Clean all public bathrooms as assigned, including the mirrors, counters, and toilets, and
stock with necessary supplies as needed
? Neatly refill all laundry storage areas/restrooms with clean linens
? Ensure shelter laundry machines are running at all times while onsite, as time allows
? Communicate supply needs
? Other duties as assigned
OTHER FUNCTIONS: ? Maintain open and consistent communication with Program Manager or designee,
supervisor, and other colleagues
? Able to react to change productively and perform other related duties as assigned
? Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
? Able to work in a high volume, fast-paced, high-stress environment
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPECTATIONS: ? Prior janitorial experience preferred
? Excellent interpersonal skills

? Timely and good attendance

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Environment ? Occasionally outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures.
? Exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, and dirt.
? Must be able to work around loud noises, various cleaning agents and other chemicals
including bleach and sanitizing agents, and inclement weather
? Rapid pace with exposure to potential hazards including animal waste, disinfectants, and
high levels of noise
Physical Demands ? Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
? Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds.
? Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and stretching.
