Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor, Nephrology (HMC) School / Campus / College: School of Medicine Organization: Medicine, Nephrology Title: Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor, Nephrology (HMC) Position The University of Washington's (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is seeking applicants for one full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position at the University of Washington's Harborview Medical Center (HMC) site. This position will be at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor and may begin as soon as October 2024. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Clinical assistant and clinical associate professors hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Clinical duties will be based primarily at Harborview Medical Center (HMC), attending on the inpatient nephrology consult service and outpatient clinics at HMC. The number of weeks on consult service and the number of outpatient clinics will be based on the need and at the discretion of the Section Head and Division Head. Although this position's clinical focus will be on general nephrology, we expect the person in this position will develop one to two clinical subspecialty areas of interest and expertise. This position would also see patients at one or more outpatient dialysis units, and at the discretion of the Division Head and Section Head.
This position would be responsible for teaching nephrology fellows, medical residents and medical students during time as attending, as well as participate in divisional teaching conferences as assigned.
The base salary range for this position will be:
$17,667-$20,417 per month ($212,004-$245,004 annually) for Clinical Assistant Professor WOT and $20,000-$26,000 per month ($240,000-$312,000 annually) for Clinical Associate Professor commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Qualifications Applicants must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be ABIM board-certified in Nephrology (or foreign equivalent). They must also have completed an ACGME accredited nephrology fellowship (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Successful candidates should demonstrate outstanding clinical and teaching skills.
