Job Summary: University Health Services at UW-Madison is seeking an obstetrician-gynecologist to join our team!
This individual will provide direct care to UW-Madison students within an integrated, interdisciplinary, team-based model of care. They will support 6 experienced advanced practice providers (APP) and serve as a subject matter expert and consultant for complex patient cases and procedures. Additionally, in collaboration with the Associate Director of Gynecology and Specialty Clinics, they will participate in quality improvement programming, advise on best practices and clinical standards, and may choose to participate in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health professional learners.
Responsibilities:
--Direct patient care 1-2 days per week at the 333 East Campus Mall clinic
M-F, 8:30AM-5:00PM, flexibility on day of the week, option for reduced hours during winter and summer break
--Must be available for phone consultation in reasonable timeframe to support APP practice (M-F during business hours, occasional after hours and weekend although this is very rare)
--Desired qualifications and procedural knowledge
--Colposcopy
--Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP)
--Paracervical blocks
--Hymenectomy
--Vulvar abscess incision and drainage
--Bartholin abscess
--Pelvic ultrasound (preferred)
--Previous experience in college health, adolescent medicine, or a related field (preferred)
--Experience serving diverse populations, including transgender and gender diverse patients (preferred)
Responsibilities: Provides health care services and patient education, develops and evaluates care plans, interprets diagnostic tests to diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions, and prescribes medications and treatments in support of patient health and well-being. 30% Examines, assesses, and treats patients 15% Reviews patient records and updates patient medical history 15% Orders, performs, reviews, and interprets diagnostic test results 20% Develops and communicates plan of treatment with patients and other members of the patient care team as required for treatment 10% Counsels patients on preventive healthcare and treatment options 10% Serves as a subject matter expert in field of practice to other healthcare practitioners for complex patients cases or incorporating new medical techniques or standards into clinical practice Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. Education: Required
Terminal Degree
MD or DO degree, with completed residency in obstetrics/gynecology

Qualifications: Required
--2 years post training clinical experience
--Board certified or Board eligible
--Commitment to health promotion, interest in teaching and training, sensitivity to a diverse student community, and a demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent and sensitive medical services to a racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse population
Preferred
--Pelvic ultrasound
--Previous experience in college health, adolescent medicine, or a related field
--Experience serving transgender and gender diverse patients
--Experience collaborating with advanced practice providers
License/Certification: Required

Current Licensure or eligibility to become licensed as a physician in the state of Wisconsin

Work Type: Part Time: 20% - 50%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary: Negotiable
