Position PurposeUpholds the Credit Union's mission of "We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve" by collaborating with the Credit Union's lenders and commercial clients to evaluate and manage new and ongoing lending relationships. This position assists the Credit Union in achieving its safety/soundness and loan production goals under the direction of the Commercial Credit Supervisor.Essential Responsibilities• Summarizes information obtained from members and prepares analyses/loan presentations for new and renewing loan requests.• Analyzes corporate financial statements and tax returns, personal tax returns, and personal financial statements. This includes assessing cash flow, balance sheet ratios, collateral analysis, repayment risk, trends, industry characteristics, environmental review, and compliance to policies/regulatory requirements. Evaluates business plans and projections obtained from members as part of a loan request.• Presents analysis to loan committee and senior management to aid in evaluation and approval.• Prepares SBA analysis and applications, prepares documents for the sale of guaranteed loans, and completes various reports required by the respective agencies and maintains tracking within the commercial loan origination system.• Review and request of the lending team any missing documentation required to complete annual reviews and new money requests.• Provides participants with requested information such as financial statements, appraisals, and environmental audits.• Prepares annual reviews from submitted financial statements and tax returns.• May assist with the development and implementation of credit policies.• May assist with the administration of the commercial loan origination system.• Reviews residential appraisals and on occasion, may perform site inspections.• Perform other credit related duties as assigned.Necessary Experience and Qualifications• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.• Minimum one year of related work experience required, specifically experience working with business & personal tax returns along with other financial statements.• Basic knowledge of credit policies and government regulations regarding commercial lending.• Ability to operate a standard computer with the Microsoft suite of products including navigation of various websites needed to procure information relevant to credit decisions.• Strong analytical ability and credit analysis skills necessary to research and resolve complex issues, by reading and understanding detailed reports, technical materials, and/or regulatory requirements and utilizing this information to recommend and/or make strong business decisions.• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of members, employees, and vendors in stressful situations. Requires communication/listening skills necessary to effectively obtain necessary information to make appropriate and effective decisions.• Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks in a deadline-driven environment.• Ability to produce results independently and in a team environment.Work Environment and Physical Requirements• Office environment with moderate level of noise• Occasional travel may be required.• Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer, and other office machines• Prolonged sitting or standing• Frequent mental and visual concentration• Minimal lifting of up to 25 poundsNOTE: This job has the potential to work from home, contingent upon supervisor approval.
