Overview
SMS is seeking a Communications and Outreach Lead to support a DoD cloud organization. This is a dynamic position with the opportunity for the right candidate to develop, enhance, and improve the communications and outreach efforts providing the greatest value to the customer. This is also an opportunity for the right candidate to ensure the communications effectiveness relating to Army cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and other capabilities in support of the warfighter.
The position is fully remote, but must be within a reasonable driving distance to Fort Belvoir, VA when on-site meetings/work is required.

Responsibilities
Primary duty include:
Develop executive level DoD and industry communications to include social media to raise awareness, change perceptions and attitudes, and motivate action
Assist with the development of strategic documentation (plans, road-maps, initiatives, etc.), set goals for and implement campaigns, and develop measures of success to report effectiveness
In coordination with customer stakeholders, develop marketing communications plans
Develop and implement content plans and utilize creativity to support communication of strategies aligned to distinct audiences
In coordination with SMEs, create graphics and communications to simply explain complex ideas to a variety of audiences
Apply knowledge of customer, process, and strategy challenges, and unique differentiators for content development
Distribute content to various channels, such as web, hard-copy, briefs, plans, social media, etc.)
As the position requires flexibility, other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasking in various stages with minimal direction and be able to successfully achieve desired outcomes
Expert-level (DINFOS) knowledge in communications and marketing in an organization similar in size to this acquisition
Expert-level knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to marketing and communications
Ten or more years of experience in marketing
Ten or more years of experience in communications
Ten or more years professional experience in Army, DoD, or IC in a related field
Shall possess at the time of award, and retain, an active SECRET security clearance
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
Ability to develop and improve DoD and non-DoD graphics
Experienced with social media platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, Twitter/X, YouTube, others), DoD web platforms, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
Knowledge of Cloud technologies, terminology, application migration and modernization, DevSecOps, and DoD POM/PPBE and Acquisition processes
Broad spectrum knowledge with critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Agile certification (Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
