Position Type: Part-Time, Internship (Unpaid/College Credit Available)
Duration: 3 months, renewable within the sole discretion of ECE based on organizational needs.
About Us: Equal Chance for Education (ECE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing higher education opportunities to undocumented students in Tennessee. We believe in empowering students to achieve their academic and career goals, regardless of race, religion, or nation of birth. Our work has supported over 272 scholars in graduating and contributing back to their communities.
Position Overview: The Communications Intern will support ECE's communication strategies by assisting in the creation and dissemination of content that highlights our mission, programs, and impact. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented individual interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, social media management, and public relations.
Key Responsibilities: Content Creation: Assist in writing and editing content for newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and other communication materials.Social Media Management: Help manage ECE's social media platforms by scheduling posts, creating graphics, and engaging with followers.Digital Campaigns: Support the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns to raise awareness and promote events.Media Relations: Assist in identifying media opportunities, drafting pitches, and maintaining media contact lists.Event Promotion: Collaborate with the team to promote ECE events, such as fundraisers and scholar recognition ceremonies, through various communication channels.Alumni Engagement: Work on initiatives to highlight and engage ECE alumni in communication efforts.Data Analysis: Monitor and report on communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the communications team as needed.Qualifications: Currently possess or pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Passion for education and supporting underserved communities.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.Gain practical experience in nonprofit communications and digital marketing.Flexible work schedule with the possibility of remote work.How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their resume, a cover letter, and a writing sample to ******** with the subject line "Communications Intern Application – [Your Name]."
