All candidates will be considered after program eligibility is confirmed.* BSU Consultant-Kim Griffin JOB OVERVIEW The Black Men's Clinic Health is seeking a passionate and outgoing individual to join the Black Men's Health Clinic (BMHC) team as a Community Outreach Ambassador through Workforce Solutions Capital Area. The BMHC Outreach Team meets people where they live, work, and play in the community, establishing relationships and building trust among Black men, men of color, their immediate families, and anyone with extenuating circumstances to empower them to connect with BMHC for their physical, mental, and even social determinants of health needs, such as housing, transportation, and other important resources. The Community Outreach Ambassador engages with potential BMHC clients, partners, area residents, partners, clinical staff, and organizations to share health education information and resources, coordinate and/or assist with health screenings and health-related programs, form collaborative relationships, and empower patients to set appointments and engage with BMHC. The Community Outreach Ambassador is a liaison who connects insured and uninsured men to healthcare services, promotes health equity, and plays a vital role in the fight against chronic disease and helping improve the healthcare system of care. General duties for this position: The Community Outreach Ambassador will support our team with various outreach projects while maintaining the highest level of integrity, professionalism, customer service, and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as an onsite and public-facing ambassador for BMHC and its provider network in low-income and underserved communities of color located within the Austin metropolitan service area, developing, and maintaining positive relationships with members of these communities. • Plans, develops, implements, assists and/or organizes large and smaller onsite events to advance the clinical mission and goals of the health initiative for men of color, and, particularly for Black and Latino men. • Uses social media to coordinate community relations and drive event attendance. • Works with medical providers, primary care teams, and other agencies to improve patient care and outcomes. • Responds to inquiries from community members and other interested parties Serves as a point of contact for service requests from the community, working to ensure
requests are evaluated and responses are communicated promptly.
• Works collaboratively with the GUD LIFE Community Development Corporation of the
Abundant Life Church to expand outreach efforts.
• Develops and strengthens on-going relationships with key stakeholders and works with
other community leaders and social service agencies to identify and respond to
community needs.
• Motivates the target population to be active and to manage their health.
• Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 1+ years of experience in community outreach planning or related skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Self-motivated, adaptive, resilient, and integral
• Access to reliable transportation
• Ability to work weekdays and weekends, if needed
• Ability to lift 20lbs
