About the Role: We are seeking an OTP Liaison to serve as a human link between the Opioid Treatment Program and the community. The top priority in in this role is to work and collaborate with local stakeholders and community-based organizations, including but not limited to: police departments, first responders, federally qualified health centers, local housing agencies and most importantly at primary care settings to ensure there is an understanding of and access to Medication Assisted Treatment.
As an OTP Liaison, education, engagement, and coordination are key responsibilities. A successful candidate should be comfortable speaking in public and facilitating diverse groups. During the workday, liaisons normally split their time between offices and traveling to meetings with organizations in the local community. Liaisons may also assist in MAT coordination issues with BH LINK.
Job Responsibilities: Schedule and facilitate meetings with local community organizations, such as listed above, to discover any barriers and concerns related to accessing and understanding MAT/OTP services. Following any community meetings, a liaison will write timely reports to share insights with the OTP Executive staff and gathered information to include in the quarterly reports due to BHDDH. Provide quarterly reports to BHDDH to include the above. Coordinate a community needs assessment with the local and regional prevention coalitions and Health Equity Zones to determine educational needs and resource supports. Build effective partnerships to facilitate engagement and outreach and promote grassroots marketing initiatives. Interface with communities and openly represent the OTP among businesses, at Community Overdose Engagement (CODE) meetings, local and Governor's Task Force meetings, and other potential collaborative opportunities, with the intent to improve education and access to MAT services. After identifying agency barriers, the liaison will have the ability to suggest solution tactics to encourage resolutions and provide follow up meetings to ensure continued relationship building and coordination. Meet with other OTP Liaisons quarterly to share planning activities and to avoid duplication of efforts. Attend the Governor's Overdose Treatment workgroup to assist in the strategic workplan to build access and reduce stigma regarding MAT Perform general administrative duties as assigned and participate in supervision activities. Required Education & Qualifications : Master's degree in social/health sciences, social work, sociology, psychology, public administration, or related discipline. If not currently in possession of a Master's degree, one of the following is required: CADC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
Required Experience: Liaison must have work experience with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), or be able to demonstrate full knowledge of all 3 FDA medications along with a solid understanding of treatment resources and the various ASAM levels of care. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in the community sector with diverse organizations and with individuals living with a range of diverse needs including disabilities, Opioid Use Disorder/addiction recovery, mental health, cultural diversity, and complex care needs. Your Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with the initiative to work independently. Demonstrated ability to consult and liaise with health and community organizations to coordinate activities. Demonstrated high level of effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred qualifications are for a minimum of five years' experience conducting community outreach and coordination. Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Licenses/Certifications:  If the candidate is not currently in possession of a Master's degree, one of the following is required: CADC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT AHCTC
