The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of New Mexico (UNM) Health Sciences Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our expanding team.
This recruitment is open to candidates at any rank and track, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing department within a renowned academic institution.
The successful candidate will have completed an accredited ophthalmology residency program and will be expected to develop a thriving clinical practice within the UNM Hospital Eye Clinic.
This role includes shared responsibilities for on-call duties and active participation in the education of medical students and residents.

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an Ophthalmology Residency Program Board certified/eligible in Ophthalmology Eligible Licensure in New Mexico Eligible to work in the US Preferred Qualifications: Experience in clinical education Experience in clinical research Experience with comprehensive ophthalmology and ophthalmic procedures commonly performed by comprehensive ophthalmologists Experience with basic medical retina and pediatric ophthalmology care A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, and to serving a broadly diverse community The University of New Mexico provides a comprehensive package of benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
