Configuration/Release Manager (Remote Opportunity)

VetsEZ is?seeking a remote?Configuration/ Release Manager?to be a part of a remote team supporting?the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will establish and manage the configuration processes to ensure consistency, integrity, and control of software solutions throughout their lifecycle.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement configuration management strategies for software solutions, including version control, baseline management, and change control.Maintain and manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) or equivalent tools to track software configurations and dependencies.Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to define and document software build, deployment, and release processes.Oversee the implementation and maintenance of automated configuration management tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.Ensure proper versioning, documentation, and tracking of all software artifacts, including source code, libraries, and dependencies.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to validate and approve configuration changes and software releases.Train team members and stakeholders on configuration management tools and best practices.Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.8+ years of experience is required.Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and configuration management principles.Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Jenkins).Experience with build and release management tools and processes in Agile and DevOps environments and familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure).Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams to achieve common goals. Additional Qualifications: Experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal agencies.The following certifications: AWS certification, Azure certification, etc.Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment.Ability to obtain a government clearance.
