About the Client I am currently representing a premiere, full-service Commercial Design-Build company who have grown substanially since being incorporated 14 years ago. They are looking to continue their growth and due to an influx of inquiries they are looking for an Estimator to strengthen their current team. People and Culture is something that is very important to them and at the forefront of what they do. About the Role Completes all duties in accordance with company core values and company standards. Use Procore and other software services to develop, issue, and/or maintain the following: project drawings & specifications, scopes of work, narratives, subcontractor estimates, bid tabs, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and project documentation. Review plans and specifications to develop complete, accurate, and comprehensive bids/cost reports for projects of various types (conceptual, design-build, competitive bid, private / negotiated, and government). Work closely and communicate regularly with the Project Executives / Business Developers and Design Team members to thoroughly understand the project and client expectations. Maintain training on Procore to ensure company uses the most up-to-date options. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to develop initial and final project estimates. Maintain detailed notes, minutes, and information for each project in a binder for transition to Project Manager. Assist in the transition of each project to the specified Project Manager. Interpret and explain plans to estimating staff, project team members, and clients. Study job plans and specifications to determine appropriate construction methods and develop scope sheets for each trade and division. Review and compare subcontractor bids for accuracy and develop accurate estimates and proposals. Attend pre-bid or client meetings as needed to provide accurate preliminary and final proposals. Create preliminary schedules with Microsoft Project to help develop general conditions. Work with the project management team to assist with project management, buyouts, subcontract agreements, etc. As needed, confer with owners, subcontractors, and design professionals to discuss options for value engineering to ensure a project's continued success. Develop and prepare written estimate proposals for the sales staff. Work with sales staff, ownership, and customers to present estimates and proposals. Study job specifications and work closely with the VP of Business Development and preconstruction services to determine appropriate construction methods and cost-effectiveness. Maintain detailed time logs for all projects to ensure proper billing. Complete all duties in accordance with the Operations Manual, Safety Manual, and any other company-provided instructions. Reports directly to the VP of Business Development. About the Candidate Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial construction estimating experience or Project Management. They are also open to someone from a trade background. CPR & First Aid Training. Work requires proficiency in Microsoft products, scheduling software, ProEst, Acumatica, and Procore. Work requires sufficient proficiency in mathematical skills to work with a system of real numbers accurately. This includes a practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions, and measurements.
