A nationally-recognized business law firm serving large and small private sector commercial clients and government contractors, is seeking a detail-oriented construction attorney with 7 or more years of experience to join its construction practice group.
We are looking for candidates with significant experience in handling contract negotiations, advising construction companies on federal and state laws and regulations, and prosecuting and defending construction related claims, including the review, prosecution or defense of surety claims, mechanic liens, construction defects, delay claims and other construction related claims. The ideal applicant should have a strong work ethic, possess excellent communication skills, and works well in a collegial office environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
* JD from an accredited law school
* Licensed to practice in D.C. (or prompt waiver in)
* 7+ years of experience in construction law, or related litigation
* Experience guiding clients throughout all stages of a project, from bidding and contract negotiation to claims and project close-out
* Adept at managing multiple competing priorities and meeting deadlines efficiently
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Self-motivated with good work ethic
