Summary We are seeking a talented and experienced Construction Materials Testing Engineer (CMT) with a Professional Engineer (PE) license to join our dynamic team in Lexington, KY. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in materials testing and specials inspections, with the ability to manage projects and maintain client relationships effectively.
\n Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct inspection and testing duties, including data reduction, analysis, and fieldwork for various project types.Perform testing and sampling of soils, concrete, masonry, and reinforcing steel.Prepare and complete technical reports and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ensure design and construction submittals are reviewed and approved as per contract requirements before allowing materials on-site and work to proceed. Maintain a submittal register and a testing plan/log to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.Review all test reports and promptly notify the Contracting Officer of deficiencies, proposing corrective actions as necessary.Prepare daily Quality Control (QC) Reports and ensure that Contractor Production Reports are completed daily.Inspect all work and rework, utilizing certified QC specialists as needed, to ensure compliance with contract requirements. Maintain a rework log, documenting dates deficiencies are identified and corrected.Immediately stop any work segment that does not comply with contract requirements and direct the removal/replacement of defective work. Remove any personnel from the site who do not perform work skillfully, safely, and in a workmanlike manner, or whose work fails to meet contract specifications.Assure that all applicable tests and observations required by the contract are performed. Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license in KY or the ability to obtain in 3 months. A minimum of 4 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT).Certifications in ACI (American Concrete Institute) or ICC (International Code Council) preferred.Strong client interaction skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently.Proficient in MS Office Suite and relevant engineering software.
