Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Summary: The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overall on-site management of construction projects.
This role involves scheduling, coordinating, and supervising all activities on the job site to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Project Oversight: Plan, direct, and supervise all aspects of construction to ensure adherence to design specifications, budget, and schedule. Determine manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment needs while coordinating with the General Contractor (GC), suppliers, and operational personnel. Documentation and Reporting: Submit weekly field documents to the main office, including payroll time sheets, concrete and equipment logs, delivery tickets, Extra Work Orders, and other job-specific forms. Training and Supervision: Provide training to field personnel and support their progression to supervisory roles through participation in the company's training program. Coordinate and oversee all on-site crafts and functions to ensure a smooth and safe operation. Compliance and Coordination: Maintain communication with project management to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules. Assist in resolving construction issues, such as productivity problems and work interfaces. Safety and Equipment: Monitor employee compliance with safety programs, document violations, provide training, and implement corrective measures. Ensure workers are equipped with the necessary tools, materials, and equipment for project completion. Project Procedures: Aid Project Management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, and standards. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience: Technical Skills: Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, safety protocols, cost control, engineering drawings, and other relevant documents. Proficiency with lasers, transits, and levels. Basic carpentry skills are required. Leadership and Communication: Ability to supervise, motivate, and manage large groups effectively. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience. Minimum of 5 years of construction management or supervisory experience is preferred. Additional Information: This is a full-time position with potential weekend and overtime work as required. A 90-day probation period applies for all new hires.
